Floor panels

The Equator pipework used to carry the warm water through the underfloor heating zone is made from flexible Cross Linked Polyethylene (PE-X). PE-X has been used throughout Europe for over 30 years, primarily for underfloor heating.

The Equator underfloor heating floor panels have been designed to simplify the process of laying the pipe system, the hexagonal nodes on the panels provide a guide and fixing grid in which to lay the pipework. The floor panel composition is detailed above.

The tongue and grooved design of the panel eliminates the need to fix the panels to the sub floor. The panels are interlocked and are laid in a brickwork pattern across the sub floor. Cutting the panels is easily done using a fine toothed saw.

Each panel has an overall dimension of 1071 x 771mm, as the panels are interlocking, they have an effective size of 1050 x 750mm (giving an effective coverage of 0.787m2 per panel). A more accurate assessment of the number of panels required would be achieved by plotting a panel grid on a scale drawing. The panels should cover the entire floor area of the room, not just the live area.
